a professional bio

I’ve been a painter my entire life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a brush in my hand, painting whatever inspired me at the time: from animals, to Disney characters, to boybanders or beer bottles.  Originating from the upstate of South Carolina, I received my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Clemson University in 2010 with a focus in oil painting.  My time at Clemson helped me hone and define my style as a photorealist as I worked diligently to meet the demand of quality work within tight deadlines. Later after 4 years of working as a designer and operations manager at a screen printing company, I became a mom and combined my skills to open an Etsy store called Singing Birds Art where I made photorealistic pet portraits. My very successful 7-year run resulted in tops sales and being invited to Etsy’s headquarters in Brooklyn, NY in 2019 to tour their facilities and learn additional marketing strategies. My experience as a photorealistic painter over the last decade has taught me much about the evolution of our media exposure and visual experience as the quality of our photos and choice of artistic experience has drastically changed. Both my observation and execution as a painter have developed into a distinguishable style that I explored as Resident Artist at The Gallery at Sweetgrass from 2023-2026, and I continue to grow from my home studio.
